INTRUSION ALARM SYSTEM™

operation

In operation, the Transmitter is located at the beginning of the taper (or other channelized area) and projects dual beams to the Receiver located near the work crew. Unlike pneumatic tube units, this beam is active for the entire length of the taper from the Transmitter to the Receiver and can be "linked" together to protect an area of one mile or more. If either beam is broken, the 125db siren or optional 140+db air horn is triggered.

Setup is easy, the worker places the Transmitter at the start of the taper and aims it towards where the receiver will be placed at the end of the taper. The worker then walks to the end of the taper and places the Receiver unit down facing the Transmitter. He then adjusts the Receiver by watching the level of the LEDs in the sight window.

When the Receiver is receiving adequate beam strength the alarm system is ready to go.

This is a typical view of the setup as seen from overhead.
